WHITE AMERICAN GINSENG
Panax Quinquefolium
Our Certified Organic Ginseng is grown without the use of any pesticides, fungicides, herbidides, or chemical additives of any kind. The fertilizer we use on our fields is worm castings from our own working earthworms. As our certified organic farm is located in a remote pristine area (surrounded by Crown land and the river), there is no chance of contamination from other farms or from above - we live ina virtually pollution-free environmnet. We have had many European buyers question our "O" level for testing of heavy metals in our crop products.
Our Ginseng is not ground with heat-producing blades, but is rather ground by millstone technique, which eliminates the heating up of the product by the blades. This reuslts in a natural and fresh-tasting Ginseng product.
Our capsules are the larger sized "OO" capsules that contain 650 mg of pure 80-mesh ground Ginseng powder, with absolutely no additives of any kind. All of our capsules are 100% pure Ginseng.
History of Ginseng
Ginseng (Panax Quinqefolium) is the most famous Chinese herb - its benefits have been revered and valued for over 8000 years. The name Panax comes from the Greek word meaning "cure-all". It has long been used successfully for the overall effect it has in balancing the various functions of the body, and creating energy and a feeling of well-being. American Ginseng has a constantand rich history of being a valuable and sought-after commodity throughout the centuries. Wars have been fought over it; emperors monopolized the rights to harvest it; the Chinese went on spiritual quests before digging the "man-root"; over-harvesting led to virtually eradication of natural wild Ginseng. Gorwing Ginseng root organically now is about the closest we will ever get to the wild Ginseng root again.
Description
White American Ginseng is a perennial plant growing to a height of 3' with oval toothed leaves and a cluster of red berries as its fruit (seed). The root is slow growing and usually is not harvested until a minimum of three year's growth brings it to a man-like tap root, with arms and leg extensions, about 5-6" long.
